What’s on January 2024

Hello and welcome to 2024 at ATYP!

I’m Adrienne, ATYP’s new Executive Director — Strategy, and I am pleased to introduce our first newsletter for the year.

Pier 2/3 has been transformed into The Thirsty Mile as part of the 2024 Sydney Festival, and we’re joining the festivities with Saplings by Hannah Belanszky, which opens at The Rebel Theatre on 25 January.

Our Summer Holiday Drama Workshops are well underway, with the final week of classes coming up next week. It’s been incredible to see so many talented young people attending our workshops.

Auditions for Young Industry Studio are now open! These courses are perfect for young performers with a bit of experience under their belt and connect participants with members of the professional theatre industry.

Speaking of school holidays wrapping up, spots in our Weekly Drama Classes are beginning to fill as we prepare for term 1 of 2024. If you haven’t booked your weekly class yet, you’ll want to get in soon!

And to round off our activities for 2024 so far, applications for this year’s Youth Advisory Board are now open. If you, or someone you know, are passionate about the performing arts and want free tickets to shows, reviewing and script assessing opportunities, and an exclusive look at the operations of a national youth theatre company, apply now!

As you can see we’ve got plenty on to open 2024 with a bang. I hope to see you around the Pier soon!

Kindly,
Adrienne
Executive Director — Strategy
