Don’t Catch the Winter Blues…

Hello and welcome to another jam-packed month at ATYP!

If you don’t know who I am (first of all, rude), my name is Bec and I am the new Marketing Coordinator for ATYP! I started working in the Marketing department here in March, just after we moved into our new home at Pier 2/3, and have been loving it ever since 🥰 I am also currently studying at UTS, where I am in my final year of a Bachelor of Business (Marketing).

We have a busy month ahead of us at ATYP! Our newest production, M.Rock, opened late last month and it went off with a bang. We had very serious 😉 security guards, disco balls, and dodgy dance moves galore on opening night – a huge thanks to everyone that came to support our fantastic cast and crew!

School Holidays: Winter Edition is upon us! We have some fabulous workshops on offer for our young performers these holidays, including creating pilot episodes, working on voice and accents, and escaping from horrible hotels. Please note: the workshops look amazing and I kinda wish I was young enough to attend them. While week 1 has already started, we still have a couple of places available in our week 2 classes! Check them out here.

In other student-related news, our Work Experience applications are closing this week! If you are (or have a child that is) in Year 10 or 11 and would like to know exactly what it takes to run a National Youth Theatre company, this is the perfect opportunity! Apply here.

Our Writing department is also busy, busy, busy at the moment. Applications for our Foundation Commissions have been extended, we have our National Studio residency coming up, and we had our mid-year Sydney Fresh Ink readings last week! Have a look at some of the Writing programs we offer here.

And even though the financial year is over, you can still donate to ATYP and help us provide access to drama workshops through our scholarship programs.

Did you know that ATYP has a TikTok page? We can be found at @atyp_theatre where you can watch exclusive, behind-the-scenes content of our Workshops, Productions, and so much more!

I have some final words of advice for everyone: “You can get lost…. But don’t lose yourself”M.Rock, 2022.

All the best,

Bec 💛
