FAQ’s for Schools Shows
We have implemented a number of health and safety measures at all of our performance and workshop venues which are updated and changed based on the latest government advice. You can also access our most up to date risk assessment here. Please note as restrictions and legislation is constantly changing, you will need to ensure you keep up to date and check all communications from ATYP and the production venue on the lead up to your excursion.
All visitors to the venue are expected to adhere to the following safety measures:
Audience members 12+: are required to wear a well fitted mask at all times during the performance. It is also highly recommended that any audience members 11 years of age or younger wear a mask at all times. We ask that you also wear masks in our venue foyers and walkways unless eating or drinking. Please bring a fitted face mask with you.
Vaccination: All eligible patrons must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with an approved vaccine, at the time of attendance to enter our venues, in keeping with reopening roadmap recommendations and to provide confidence and assurance to performers, staff and audiences. Customers will be required to carry proof of vaccination and the vaccination status of all visitors will be sighted on arrival as part of the Service NSW QR Check In process.
Please don’t visit: if you feel unwell, have experienced any cold or flu like symptoms in the past 14 days, are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have returned from overseas or a hotspot area. Please err on the side of caution, and contact us to amend your booking if you need to – we have updated our ticket exchange and returns policy to accommodate the evolving circumstances.
We recommend that students leave large school bags at school or at home and bring a small bag or satchel to carry essentials. School bags can become an obstacle in an emergency evacuation. At The Rebel Theatre we have crates at our box office where students can put their school bag or satchel if needed.
Please book your buses to arrive 45 minutes prior to the performance start. If you are planning on staying for the post-show Q&A please schedule your bus for at least 30 minutes after the performance ends.
If you are unsure of the running times for the production please contact [email protected]
Most daytime school performances are UNRESERVED seating unless otherwise specified. This means seats are not allocated by row and number, but that we will seat you in school groups. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts and see the Front of House staff in the foyer so that your school group can be seated in an orderly and timely manner. Upon making your booking, you will have received a confirmation of booking with your tickets. Please ensure you have that email with you on the day and the details of the booking teacher.
Food is not allowed in the theatre. We recommend you allow time for students to eat lunch or recess before or after the show to avoid taking food into the theatre. Water bottles are allowed in the theatre.
Please contact [email protected] so we can be of assistance in meeting your needs.
If you wish to add numbers to your booking we will try to accommodate your request based on availability. Requests for additional students should be made 48 hrs prior to attending the show. Please contact [email protected]
