Term 2 at ATYP

Welcome to Term 2 at ATYP! It’s shaping up to be a busy one so read on to find out what’s
store…

Follow Me Home will hit Riverside Theatres, Parramatta in May. This very special show has been created in partnership with the Office of the Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) and is inspired by true stories of young people experiencing homelessness in Australia. Directed by our Artistic Director, Fraser Corfield (A Town Named War BoyThe Big Dry) and weaving together drama, verbatim and multimedia elements this is a great show for students studying Contemporary Australian Drama and Multi-discipline Theatre. Catch it in person from 29-31 May or watch the live stream on 31 May on our ATYP On Demand platform.

Also in May we’ll be holding auditions for Bathory Begins. We’re seeking an ensemble of talented actors aged 14-17 to help us bring this pitch-black comedy to life. The show will be playing at The Joan in Penrith (NSW) from 11-21 September, so this is a rare opportunity for Western Sydney residents to be part of an ATYP production without having to commute to the city! Find more information on our website.

Finally, since our last newsletter we’ve begun an exciting partnership with Drama NSW as their inaugural Creative Partner in 2019. We’re thrilled to be working together with the professional association of drama educators in NSW and look forward to announcing some exciting collaborations very soon, so keep an eye on our respective websites and social media channels for updates.

As always, ATYP Learning is here to support creative learning in your school. If you’re after some dramatic inspiration I hope you’ll give us a call.

See you soon!
