Internship Opportunities: The Resistance

ATYP INTERNSHIPS

ATYP offers internship opportunities across the year to assist with different activities of the company, including productions.

Internships are opportunities to receive mentorship and skills training, and at the end, ATYP will give you a certificate of completion which outlines exactly what skills you have developed.

These are unpaid opportunities, so while these roles are important we will not expect you to undertake the same duties or work the same hours as a paid employee.

 

COSTUME & PROPS 

About
Working alongside award-winning designer Tobhiyah Stone Feller, the Costume & Props Interns will receive mentorship in design for the new interactive production The Resistance

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with costume fittings
  • Assisting with costume alterations
  • Assist with sourcing costume and prop items
  • Assist in running design workshops with young people
  • Assist with bump-in of set, props and costumes
  • Assist designer during tech and production week

At the completion of your internship, ATYP will provide you with documentation stating the skills you have acquired during your time supporting the production. 

Dates
The Costume & Props Interns are required part-time from January – February 2023. Exact times and dates will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Design Workshops: 19 – 24 January

Rehearsals: 16 January – 11 February
Tech: 6 – 10 February

Season: 16 Feb – 11 March

Requirements

  • Basic making skills including hand sewing and/or machine sewing
  • You must be organised and a good problem solver. Some prior experience working on productions would be helpful
  • Age: 18-26
  • Working with Children Check is required (ATYP can help you apply for this if you don’t have one already)

 

ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER INTERNSHIP 

About 
ATYP is offering an ASM Internship to support the rehearsals and season of The Resistance, working alongside Production Manager Taryn Brown, and the Stage Manager.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with setup and pack-down of the rehearsal and performance spaces
  • Assisting with management of props
  • Assisting with management of cast
  • Assisting with purchasing props and materials

At the completion of your internship, ATYP will provide you with documentation stating the skills you have acquired during your time supporting the production.

Dates
The ASM Intern is required part-time from January – March 2022. Exact times and dates will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Rehearsals: 16 January – 11 February
Tech: 13 – 15 February

Season: 16 Feb – 11 March

Requirements
