As the youngest staff member at ATYP, I’m always impressed (and more often than not exclaiming, “YES QUEEN!”) at everything our team has been doing to provide young people with incredible opportunities throughout the year. July is no exception and I’m keen as beans to get into it.
ATYP is thrilled that our Semester 2 weekly classes will be both online and in person. Yes, you read that right. Get ready to see your tutor and classmates face-to-face again (from an appropriate distance, of course). For anyone who’s been loving our online Zoom classes, don’t even worry! We’ve got you covered because our online weekly classes will also continue to be available for Semester 2. Enrolments are open online and filling fast so get booking now.
For students and teachers, our fantastic Education team has been uploading new content to ATYP On Demand every two weeks. Not only does ATYP On Demand have a collection of past, award-winning productions available to stream, it now has three installments of our new Workshops Series. These filmed workshops include comprehensive education resources and activities for you to try at home or in the classroom. Sign up now to access this awesome content for free!
RoomWorks, our online edition of Sparkly Sh*t, has started off in a shower of glitter with the help of Nightingale Content. Our 10 writers and 10 performers have been busy all week meeting with professional mentors to create and perfect their new monologues. These pieces will be filmed for their upcoming online showcase. Keep an eye on our socials for more news about this fabulous team of artists and their exciting work.

I’ve been absolutely stoked about kickstarting our ATYPicals Youth Advisory Group again this year. It’s incredibly inspiring to see so many other young people that are just as passionate about youth arts as we are! Our first meeting sparked some really insightful discussions that we’re hoping to continue onto our next meeting later this month. If you’re 13-26 years old and love ATYP, what are you waiting for?
