BY JO TURNER
Piloted in 2007, this successful collaboration creates short performances inspired by the latest novels for young people which will be adapted and directed by Sydney director and actor, Jo Turner and, performed by a cast of ATYP members aged 13 -19.
The novels which were be adapted are; Max Remy Super Spy The French Connection by Deborah Abela, Wombat & Fox Tales of the City by Terry Denton, Ishmael and the Return of the Dugongs by Michael Gerard Bauer and Starfish Sisters by J.C. Burke. This is a great opportunity to see a snapshot of each book that will hopefully make the audience want to read the book as well as enjoy a great night out at the theatre!
“These great teenage novels are exciting, irreverent, moving, funny and also deal with serious issues but most importantly they don’t treat their readers like kids. This makes them brilliant for adapting to the stage for youth audiences.” says director Jo Turner.
