INTERSECTION 2020: BEAT

ATYP regrets to announce our production of Intersection 2020: Beat will no longer be presented in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

As tickets were not released for this production we would be grateful if you choose to do the following:

  • You can choose to donate the price of your tickets to ATYP as a tax-deductible donation. Your support at this unprecedented and extremely challenging time for the arts will be more valuable than we can express. As a not-for-profit company, ATYP relies on the generosity and understanding of our community. By donating the value of your tickets you will help to reduce the impact this revenue loss will have on our artists and ongoing company costs.

ATYP will continue to act on the advice from the Federal and State governments, the Department of Health, NSW Health (and other state health departments where applicable) ensuring our community of young people, parents, carers, artists, audiences, staff, and board are kept informed and safe through this unsettling time.

Offbeat. Upbeat. Move to your own beat.
These are stories that explore the pulsating experience of young lives.

Intersection 2020: Beat is a taste-test of Australia’s brightest new playwrights illuminating fragments of lives dancing on the edge of adulthood. This collection of short plays will surprise, intrigue, provoke and move. The characters range in age from 15-22 and the production showcases some of the finest young performers.

“I just let loose. It’s like I’ve got those red shoes on from that fairy tale you read us – not the Wizard of Oz, the one where she dances herself to death. Yeah. That’s me.”

Grace Chow - Dance Yourself to Death

Ten short plays present [young people] as a force to be reckoned with, full of hope and exhilaration, in an event that will provide inspiration to the young and young-at-heart.
