WELCOME TO ATYP DRAMA CLASSES AT THE McDONALD COLLEGE
CREATE. EXPRESS. PERFORM.
If you’re looking for a fun, challenging and inclusive drama class outside of school then ATYP is for you. We are proud to be partnering with The McDonald College to bring ATYP drama programs to a whole new audience.
Our weekly drama classes run for 2 Terms and will be held on Saturdays for students from K-12. All classes are led by dedicated, industry trained Teaching Artists, actors, writers, directors and theatre makers who will improve your drama and performance skills. ATYP at The McDonald College classes will make use of The McDonald College purpose built performance and rehearsal spaces.
When joining a class for a semester, you can expect to spend the first term developing voice, movement and performance skills. Drama classes can include acting for stage, acting for screen, comedy, drama, verbatim theatre, improvisation, devising, self-devised work, audition techniques and many other drama and theatre skills. In the second term you will continue developing these skills as you work with your teaching artist to create an end of semester showcase performance for family and friends.
ATYP is a registered COVID safe business and we take the safety of our whole community seriously. Click here to see how we are protecting all workshop participants, families and carers, teaching artists, staff, board and all other stakeholders. We have made the decision that anyone working for ATYP must be fully vaccinated or have a genuine medical exemption. We understand however, that not all young people have yet had the chance to be vaccinated so while we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that all young people aged 12 and above be fully vaccinated, it will not be a requirement to enrol in an ATYP workshop. We will be asking for information about the vaccination status of participants at enrollment. This information will not be made public or used to deny access or participation in any part of the workshop program but ATYP does reserve the right to confirm the enrollment of unvaccinated students in a course if asked. These students will never be identified by name.
