The last of our junior classes introduces participants to the theatre terminology that we use in the industry to create exciting stories, truthful characters and great performances. This course is designed to give participants specific skills in plot development, character creation and devising and to explore ideas of given circumstances and objectives.
First term classes will focus on skill development and ensemble work, while the second term gives students a chance to use these skills and work together to devise a show to share with family and friends.
Through attending classes, rehearsals and performances young artists will learn and develop stagecraft. Focussing on vocal and physical techniques and how they connect to performance, students develop narrative and storytelling skills through improvisation, character creation and working as an ensemble. Guided by an ATYP industry professional these classes will equip participants with the skills and terminology needed as they progress into the senior classes.
