This Summer, ATYP is diving into our library of amazing plays to give students a chance to spend a week really immersing themselves in one of our Foundation Commission plays created for 14-17yr olds. Students will get the chance to immerse themselves in the black comedy, Bathory Begins by Emme Hoy and Gretel Vella. Read the play, choose your favourite scenes and then discover how to create hilarious characters through clever comic timing. Work on vocal skills including articulation, projection and how to hold an audience’s attention. Learn about the elements of rehearsing a script for performance including script analysis, establishing subtext, clarifying intention, blocking, sharing focus and building tension. Throughout the week you will work with an industry professional to not only explore this work, but also the process of rehearsing for a show. Invite your family and friends at the end of the week to share with them your take on this exciting play for young performers.
