This course is designed to provide young people with the experience and skills required to be a part of a production. Students will audition for roles, attend rehearsals, and work with the director, writer and a whole creative team to bring the world premiere of Shack to life with a performance week in The Rebel Theatre. Shack, written by George Kemp, was the winner of the 2020 Foundation Commission for 10-13 yr olds. The ATYP Foundation Commission invests in work for young people to perform. Developed by ATYP and published by Playlab, we are creating a canon of work for young actors aged 10-13.
The Actor’s Studio provides a unique opportunity for participants to work with peers in a challenging ensemble environment while facilitating connections between young creatives and the industry. As a part of this course, participants will attend a show with their Teaching Artist and ATYP staff to experience and explore theatre with their peers.
Entry into this class is via Audition Only and commitment to every class is vital.
