For experienced and committed young actors ATYP Theatre Makers courses are designed to give participants the experience of working together as a theatre company. Work with a professional director and a professional writer to discover the process of creating a brand-new work. This is the opportunity for young actors to reflect what is relevant to them and share it with an audience. Participants will learn skills in collaboration, playwrighting and performance.
First term classes will focus on skill development and ensemble work, while the second term gives students a chance to use these skills and work together to devise a scripted show or perform chosen scenes from professional plays. Through rehearsals and performance young artists will gain skills in stagecraft, voice work and performance technique. Guided by an ATYP industry professional these classes will equip participants with the skills and terminology needed as they progress into the senior classes.
Entry into this class is via Application Only and commitment to every class is vital.
