ATYP in the Classroom

ATYP In The Classroom delivers live drama workshops streamed into your classroom.

Specifically designed for school students, the workshops are presented by ATYP Artists who lead students through programs including Playbuilding, Monologue Technique and Voice and Accent. All streamed workshops are interactive and include practical performance exercises. Students can participate whether they’re literally ‘in the classroom’ or at home. Each workshop can be tailored to suit any secondary or primary drama class.

ATYP In The Classroom is accompanied by a resource pack for teachers and extra digital material available on ATYP’s On Demand platform. 

If you would like a streamed workshop for a topic not listed, ATYP is also able to deliver customised programs. ATYP In The Classroom Workshops

Course: Playbuilding
Suitability: Yrs 7-12
Platform: Zoom*
Cost: $400 1.5h / $350 1h
Capacity: 30 students

This online workshop will introduce students to fundamental theatre devising and playbuilding concepts and techniques. Working with an ATYP Teaching Artist students will explore ensemble-building, characterisation, form and dramatic storytelling: linear and non-linear. This is the perfect starting point for students undertaking a playbuilding unit or a HSC group devised project.

Course: Monologue Technique
Suitability: Yrs 7 -12
Platform: Zoom*
Cost: $400 1.5h / $350 1h
Capacity: 30 students

Monologue Technique will equip students with the skills to bring a monologue from the page to the stage. Our professional artists will unpack the actor’s approach to solo performance, including character analysis, breaking-down a script and approaches to making creative choices for performance.

Course: Voice and Accent
Suitability: Yrs  8 -12
Platform: Zoom*
Cost: $400 1.5h / $350 1h
Capacity: 30 students

Voice and Accent teaches students how to identify and manipulate the parts of the body that affect the voice and utilise them in performance. In addition, you can elect to have your workshop explore one of the following accents: Standard American, Standard British, British Received Pronunciation or General Irish.
